Waterproof and sidemount specialties

At CAP Port-Vendres, two distinct skills are offered: drysuit (90 €, one dive) and sidemount SDI or TDI (450 €, 3 days). Each can be taken individually, or in conjunction with a ccr course.

Waterproof: clothing not provided, €80 if combined with another course.

Sidemount: equipment and gas included, certification €65 extra. The cylinders clip into the water: over 15L on the spine, often more comfortable for the back. Slimmer profile, practical on wrecks.

What is the purpose of sidemount?

The blocks are mounted on the sides and clip into place in the water: less strain on the back and shoulders, simpler on the boat. Two independent gases, more stable trim, thinner profile for wrecks and cavities. Training can be done alone or in support of a ccr Protection and Rescue Center).
